Seth Currie CHARLOTTETOWN, Prince Edward Island — The Prince Edward Island community is mourning the loss of Seth Darius Currie, who died peacefully at home on January 22, 2026, at the age of 35. He passed surrounded by his family after a period of illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community service.
Seth was a beloved husband to Jalisa (Jones) and a devoted father to his children, Piper and Pete. He was the cherished son of Randy and Esther Currie and a much-loved brother to Zach (Molly) and Sarah. Seth also leaves behind extended family members, including his sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many friends who will deeply feel his absence.
A passionate and caring individual, Seth was known for his love of good music, football — especially cheering for the Minnesota Vikings — and his skills as a great cook, often spending precious moments in the kitchen with his children. He also enjoyed golf with his Wednesday night group and playing senior league hockey.
Seth took great pride in his work as a teacher at East Wiltshire, where he made a meaningful impact on the lives of his students and colleagues. His dedication to education and his genuine rapport with young minds earned him respect and admiration within the school community.
Family and friends remember Seth for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He cherished Sundays spent with family in Suffolk enjoying his mother’s food, and his greatest pride came from being the best husband and father he could be.
Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Funeral Home, with the funeral service scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in the funeral home chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at Fox Meadows Golf Course, and burial will take place later at St. Columba Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation to support the Cancer Treatment Centre that provided care to Seth and his family during his illness.
Seth Darius Currie will be remembered for his warmth, his devotion to family and community, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
